When Tulips are Too Adorable: A Flowers and Greens Feature
At one point, there are three types of people- the rose lovers, the sunflower lovers, and the tulips lovers. We at Flowers and Greens are lovers of all blooms and greens, but we are so feeling like tulip fanatics today. Here’s why.
Did you know that about 60% of wild tulips originated in central Asia? While the flower is more often associated with Holland for it became the country’s most famous export product in the 20th century, experts identified the northern foothills of the Himalayas as the most significant habitat of wild tulips species. In the Philippines, farmers managed to grow tulips in greenhouses to be able to adapt to its tropical climate.
There are about 3,000 varieties of tulips of about 150 species of them. These numbers are as stunning as the visual of tulips arranged with artistry and taste. If you are doubtful of that, here’s an eye feast for you.
These are just some of our arrangements in our shop. As you can see, these bouquets have only tulips in them.
Some people ask us what flowers go best with this flower. And it’s just so difficult to decide because this flower is so versatile! It’s more fun, cool and casual compared to roses which can be formal and romantic.
Tulip is elegant on its own but it can be mixed with other flowers as it adds vibrance to any arrangement. As florists, our personal preference is to arrange it on its own so other flowers will not overpower it’s understated beauty. Fact is, tulip is slim and very delicate compared to other blooms, that if you mix it with other flowers , it’s true beauty will not come out.On its own, an all tulip arrangement is even more adorable.
As we mentioned, tulips have many varieties. Some have really unique and stunning appearance like the parrot tulips, greigii , and the fringed.
And these are only three of the many.At Flowers and Greens, we are into the subtle, sweet but vibrant and cheerful character of the single tulips.
