All About Wedding Seasons in the Philippines
There is no single best date or month for marriage. But just like there is a peak season for festivities on April-May, and that for gift-giving on December- January, there are specific months when weddings are at their peak.
Since time immemorial, June is a peak month. This is due to a belief that it the best time to marry because it is the month of Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. February is becoming popular among couples too because it is the love month. However, December has become a popular choice for weddings- sometimes surpassing June bookings.
It is not surprising though. December is the most awaited month of the year for it is also the Christmas month. There is an undeniable soaring spirit of positivism and love among people. It is when families get together. They even come home from abroad to celebrate with their loved ones, and so is a good time to tie the knot. Another more practical reason is that the month is a bit colder and dryer than other months. December is a good choice because summer is becoming hotter each year. Also, the weather becomes unpredictable during lean months.
Yet there are foreseen challenges when booking for a wedding during peak season. It means more people are reserving the dates. So if you are eyeing December – February dates, it’s better if you can book suppliers months before. We are not even exaggerating if we say 8- 12 months before. Better early than missing your preferred supplier for your big day!
