Things Our Moms Won’t Tell Us: A Mother’s Day 2019 Special From Flowers and Greens

Written by dev-site on November 24, 2024 Posted in Blog

We’d be very much redundant when we say Moms are the best person we all got in our lives and that they deserve well enough to be spoiled this coming Mother’s day. We’re sure too that you have been coming across the endless feeds about motherhood and moms’ sacrifices for us.

But in this special blog, we’d like to invite you to ponder on the things that our mothers just won’t tell us but mean every little reason why they are our living heroes.

Mother 429158 640

  1. She gave up something that means the world to her- for us

It may be a laid back life, a once in a blue moon reunion of friends in a grand vacation, a promotion she always dreamed of, a career she’s just started, or even another love of her life. She always choose us over anything EVERY TIME.

  1. She thinks about that dress she didn’t buy

We’re sucking our Mom’s pockets like thirsty bees, and she won’t tell us how much she wanted to buy that beautiful dress but won’t because we’re dying for that toy or we have tuition to settle.

  1. She cries with a broken heart at night

When we slam that door after a fight with her telling her she won’t understand us ever. But the truth is, it’s us who will never understand how much it hurts her when she can’t give what we want or when we act like someone she didn’t raise properly.

  1. She’s sick

She’s waking at wee hours when we cry like mad as babies, sometimes never made it back to sleep, head to work in the morning after prepping us for the day, getting back home and doing all the chores- dinner, dishes, clothes to wash, room to clean, us to get ready for bed, and still manages to play with us. But she won’t tell us she has a fever all day. She just want to make sure everything’s done and she’s still got time with us.

  1. She has a lot of things to overcome every single day

She was carefree before us. She hangs out a lot and laugh a lot with friends. These days, especially when we were children, she has to overcome things: Fear for one, and guilt. She’s always anxious about us getting hurt while she’s away working. What if we bumped our head badly, or we tripped on the stairs. And she’s guilty. Leaving us at home with a nanny or with dad because she thinks it must be her taking care of us

You must be thinking now, “Oh, have I ever done something good to Mom?” Answer is yes we have.

We’d like to share with you something a Mom shared with us at Flowers and Greens. She said,

“If there’s ever one thing I realized after having my child is that… I never really imagined I could love someone so much that I’d die at just the thought of losing her.”

To all of you reading this, you must have realized by now how much your mom is doing at your back. It’s but right to treat her special like every day is Mother’s day.

To all the Moms, you’re unbelievable. Cheers!
